The University of Helsinki is the oldest and largest institution of academic education in Finland, with an international scientific community of 40,000 students and researchers. In international university rankings, UH typically ranks among the top 100.
UH is the Finnish partner in ASSEMBLE Plus. Three Finnish marine installations, located in the northern Baltic Sea, also participate in ASSEMBLE Plus:
- TZS (UH-Tvärminne Zoological Station)
- ARI (UH-Archipelago Research Institute, University of Turku)
- HBS (UH-Husö Biological Station, Åbo Akademi University)
UH's ASSEMBLE Plus partnership is run at TZS. TZS also coordinates the Finnish process towards EMBRC membership, with the third parties Archipelago Research Institute, University of Turku, Husö Biological Station, Åbo Akademi University, and the Finnish Environment Institute, Marine Research Centre. All institutions are part of FINMARI, the Finnish Marine Research Infrastructure network.
UH will offer transnational access (TA) and contribute to NA2, NA3, NA4, JRA1, JRA4 and JRA5.
